Opening of the 2017 Season
We are pleased to extend an invitation to join us Memorial Day Weekend for our opening of the 2017 season. We hope you have been enjoying our wines and they have helped you through the winter months.
This year we have six new wines to offer:
2016 Traminette is an off-dry white wine with 1.6% residual sugar.
2016 Seyval Blanc is our first white wine to be put through malolactic fermentation, which brings a buttery quality, and aged on Hungarian Oak to add notes of caramel and vanilla.
2016 Chambourcin Blush is a very special wine made in the saignee style from rich dark Chambourcin grapes.
2016 Catawba is a tribute to the grape that made Ohio the capital of winemaking in the USA until the Civil War. Residual sugar 2.6%.
2016 Gruner Veltliner is a new grape for us from the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in the Grand River appellation. This wine is perfect to support savory meals with rich sauces adding elegance with crisp, clear acidity.
2016 Two Rivers White is a semi-sweet wine that pays tribute to the diversity of Ohio's vineyards blending Traminette from the Ohio River Valley and Catawba from the Grand River appellation. Residual sugar 2%.
We look forward to greeting you.
Our wines are available in fine wine stores and restaurants throughout Ohio and for shipping out of state. Kinkead Ridge wines are featured in the internationally published "Opus Vino" wine reference book, in "1000 Great Everyday Wines from the World's Best Wineries," and Jancis Robinson's "American Wines."
History of the Kinkead Logo
The logo was designed by Nancy Bentley. The leaf is a vinifera leaf, topped with a “K” for Kinkead in a type font called Blackadder, emulating a grapevine’s curlicues, which attach a vine to the trellis wire.
